Thank you for your kind words about my courses and your insights for our community. You are a gem. I loved seeing your work in class. I always say, Art is a conversation you have with yourself. It’s not a competition. It’s your relationship to the materials and the process and self discovery. This is what I figured out when I was an illustrator. ❤️
Adam, I really admire that painting. So much to look at, so many colours, and still a good composition. Its easy to read even though a lot of things are happening...
This really resonated with me—especially the metaphor about illustrators being like keys on a keyring, each unlocking something unique. I’ve definitely experienced that shift from seeing others as “competition” to seeing them as part of a creative community. It’s so true that we all benefit when we share our struggles and progress—it creates space for learning, connection, and genuine growth. Thank you for articulating this so clearly. I’m off to write down some of my own “redefined” goals now!

Relationships are everything, that’s the lesson I’m learning today :)

Oooh, I love the idea of it being keys on a lock rather than competing. I'm gonna think about that metaphor a lot.
Me too Sarah - loved the key ring metaphor 🙌 …. and looking forward to the treasure within ourselves - Thankyou 😊
Yup. We're all different keys just looking for the right lock.
