As an illustrator or creative person or even someone who has an instagram account and is even a little bit interested in art, I’m sure this question has popped into your mind this week.1

“What the F am I supposed to do with my social media?!”

This question can be broken down into some detail.

  • Should I Move to Cara?

  • What do I do about Meta stealing my art and using it as meat for AI ART sausages?

  • Should post to Pinterest or LinkedIn?

  • Where are all the Art Directors going to be?

Where are all the Art Directors going to be?

For me, ‘Where are all the art directors going to be?’ is the most important question my main use for instagram (other than getting distracted) is to put my work out there for art directors to casually bump into, and it’s worked really well so far.

The answer to this question is of course , everywhere some will have moved to BlueSky, and some have already followed me on Cara(spoiler alert), Some stayed on X, and everyone will still find themselves on Instagram every so often..

has written a brilliantly useful article about how to get seen by creative professionals and if your goal is to get work as an illustrator, I think it will give you insight to the question of the day: ‘What the F to do with my social media?’.

Free TenMinuteArtist Sketchbook Projects go out every Friday.
