116: Waltzing with shadows
On Choosing to keep spinning forward.
In the dance of life, you’ll sometimes feel like you’re waltzing with shadows.1 The unknown stretches out before you, and the steps you take seem to hang on the edge of meaning.
You make choices, and those choices make you.2 Each decision comes with a price, a consequence that you must bear. There's no escaping it, no magical path free from the weight of choice.
But in this mysterious dance, there's beauty to be found. You can search for meaning, even when it seems to hide from you. By shouldering the burden of responsibility and reflecting on your own experiences, you can begin to see the patterns and rhythms of our lives.3
As we twirl and spin through each day, we must remember that life is lived forwards, even though it can only be understood backwards.4 We learn from the steps we take and the partners we choose. And it's through these lessons, these moments of personal experience, that we find our way.
So, as we dance with uncertainty, let's be brave. Let's close the gap between our dreams and our reality. Let's create meaning from the shadows and paint our lives with the colors of choice.
