Drawing in public is tough, mainly because it’s public.
Someone might come and look over your shoulder or gasp, come and talk to you! my substack buddy Nishant Jain has found a way to avoid that problem by making sneaky art.
Anonymous tiny drawings of people he observes in the world around him. His first book Make Sneaky Art invited you to do the same. A year on Nishant has made his second book and is publishing it on Kick Starter. As a result he was able to make a book exactly as he imagined, and he’s imagined it as a field guide for people watchers.
YES, there is space for drawing.
But it’s not just for people who draw, instead it invites you to observe the people in your world with intention. I believe this book will heal some of the social ills that have befallen us in recent times.
