Tiki-taka (Play Style)

If you’ve watched the Spanish national football team pass and keep possession of a football, you’ve seen tiki-taka. It’s a style of play that emphasises quick passing to move the ball to the goal. Working in publishing is a team sport, and tiki-taka is probably the best way to play it.

Taking Feedback (Receiving the ball)

Recently I submitted the coloured spreads of the non-fiction childrens book I’m illustrating to the publisher. And yesterday I got the feedback for it. The feedback came in the form of a PDF with little sticky notes on them.

There were sticky notes on every page!

At first glance it was easy to be discouraged. And if you don’t manage your schedule, emotions, communication skills and finance well this could be the breaking point of your career.
