TEN MINUTE ARTIST PROMPT
Lead by Colour
Pick a material, this could be a marker pen, a colour pencil, a tube of paint, let the colour determine what you draw.
Based on the colour find some reference and just draw the bits that are that colour first, feel free to add other materials later.
One of the biggest obstacles to even starting a ten minute session is gathering materials. To overcome that, I’m selecting a handful of materials to be my go to that will stay in a drawer nearby for when I want to create.
I’m starting with this dark pink watercolour pencil.
I am trying to select a small pool of materials that can give me a wide rage of effects, a watercolour pencil fits nicely into that category.
The water-colour pencil is an excellent starting choice since it can be used for
Regular pencil drawing
Adding colour
Creating washes when water is added
Varied mark-making through different pressure and techniques
Do you have some go to materials?
Very helpful! It’s kind of like picking out your clothes the night before so you don’t waste time while getting ready in the morning.
