This is day 3 of Writing on stage, today’s dispatch is titled talking to the audience. You can check out the entire Gameplan here.

Project Notes: Continue working in your artist diary for 10 minutes a day, use week 2 as a minute of options if you need some ideas.

”I’m looking to get into editorial illustration , this is a completely new field for me, my approach to it is a kind of visual journaling of third spaces, starting with this cafe, this sketch is obviously not something that could be used in a publication, but it’s a kind of prototype, it is something for me to examine, and something I can build from. People tend to start with: ‘what jobs are available’… I’m trying to create the job, then find a client to pay for it. Which me luck!”

I’m going to share this sketch from my sketchbook on substack notes today along with the story behind why I made it.

Sharing this way, is away to start a conversation around the work we are doing. In the same day I’m also going to share a page from a book I’ve illustrated or some work related thing. I’ll share something you made. And I’ll probably share something about my newsletters.

I probably share more than most, you will need to find your own cadence.
