My author friend Rajesh Setty wrote a book during the Pandemic. A few of my illustrations appeared in them, this is one that was made specifically for the book. It’s a simple line and a simple illustration but the idea was a turning point for me.
When building an illustration portfolio, they say, “Make the kind of work you want to get.” Sometimes we’re lazy or indecisive. We want someone to tell us the kind of work to make.
We don’t want to be put in a box.
But what if the box they put you in determined your opportunities?
