The thing about building a habit is to make it easy.
And if easy is too tough, making it easier. It’s Day 27 of Inktober, and I drew a box in my pocket sketchbook reducing the surface I had to cover by half! Then I drew the prompt simply.
It’s a nothing drawing.
But when I look back at pages and pages of these nothing drawings over the course of the year. I can get pretty overwhelmed.
People don’t tend to feel like going to the gym. It’s something they force themselves to do, and they need some carrot or stick to make the force work. What I used today was this.
When you look back on this day’s, weeks, years later.
This image will bring you back to this time and place in your life and you will feel grateful for it. And if you don’t spend the ten minutes drawing. You will look back to an empty page.
It’s going to cost 10 minutes, what are you going to decide to do?

Since I started doing 10 Minute Artist practice, I feel deprived if I have to put it off for an hour or two. It's how I start my day now.
