Adam Here,
As a recovering Tech Bro, I have a move fast and break things approach.
To counter this tendency, I surround myself with people who have a gentler approach. One such person is
, who you might also know from and .You might also know her from her excellent substack that’s packed with guides and tools and chronicles her own journey from teacher to illustrator. And this summer, she’s added another reason to become a paid subscriber to her substack.
If you want to make gentle progress towards one of your own projects, I’ll let her tell you about it!
Hey Ten Minute Artists!
How are your daily prompts and creative sprints going? Adam is such a great motivator, isn’t he? His ideas and posts always seem to come at the right time, with just the right idea that I need.
So I hope this post will catch some of you at the right time, too. Specifically… if there’s anyone who has said, “I’ll work on that project next week,” or, “I’ll get to it this weekend…” But if it’s now been weeks or maybe months, then I want to let you know about a brand new space I just launched yesterday on Substack: The Summer Project Club.
The Summer Project Club is for illustrators and creatives who want to make steady progress on a specific project from July to September. If your own projects often get pushed aside because you’re busy with life, client work, or another job, then this space is for you.
It’s a space for you to dedicate time to your own projects and goals. You will pick one goal and work on it consistently for three months. We will check in during our live meetings and have dedicated work time. We’ll support each other, celebrate our wins, and make progress together.
You can read more about Summer Project Club in this post.
If you’re looking to finish up a project that you keep putting off, you could join Summer Project Club and have it done by the end of September. I’m thinking of working on a wallpaper design that I keep putting on the back burner. It seems like a fun summer project.
Hope to see some of you there!
Katie
