How to get your customers to pay you to do personal projects.
Yesterday I introduced the concept of a twofer, today I’m going to suggest a way to do your personal projects and get your clients to pay for it!
Side A:
So here’s the idea. We want to do a million things creatively.
Personal Projects we call them.
What if we narrowed that down to let’s say 100 things. And call it the ‘Me’ list.
And what if every time we did a piece of client work we took the ‘Me’ list and see if we could put any of the items into the client work. So we’re actually checking something off the list and getting paid.
It’s a way of getting more ‘me’ into the work, which is normally why the client hired you for anyway.
I’m going to try this as a 100 day project!
Side B:
I think we can draw inspiration from how creatives in other disciplines approach their craft. I found this video, rich with inspiration.
