spoiler: make them easy-to-draw

It helps you stay consistent, but more importantly it helps your audience recognise your character. But there’s one more reason that not every artist considers.
Simple characters spread more easily.
In today’s prompt I will show you…
How to draw rabbit — The hero (or maybe villain, in a Picturebook of the Year Nominated book I illustrated called, Down The Hole) - I’m going to make it really simple!
A Character is the essence of a thing
I drew hundreds of rabbits, form pictures, from life, and from other famous characters and distilled them into this easy to draw character.
I’m going to show you exactly how easy it is to draw this character
I hope this will be instructive when you’re thinking about drawing your own characters!

You might have heard about the new format where I write daily.
Some days it comes out quick and easy, I’ll make those bits free, but some days when I need to put a bit more time into it to unpack and expand the thoughts, or if I want to share a secret.
I’ll use the paywall.
Today I’m doing both.
It’s when I reach the point in the letter where I need to get paid to keep writing or I’ll need to go do something else that pays me. I hope you’ll consider supporting this work.
