There is a Creative Exercise by Alyssa Annette Block where you, split a page into four sections and draw yourself through the seasons of life.
Childhood, Youth, Adulthood, Older Age.
You’re encouraged to do this truthfully or imagine an ideal version.
Having completed this exercise, I find it useful to have these four life stages in view at the same time.
Today I’m a children’s book illustrator and author. Exactly what I wanted to be when I was 11.
And as I imagine inhabiting future me, I imagine he will have some wisdom to pass on to my current self. I wonder what that wisdom might be.
