Some of you joined us for Art Gym a couple days ago and it was great to have you!
And if you didn’t you can catch a replay here and learn a bit more about what we did.
I came up with 3 RULES, that if you would follow would help you make more dynamic character drawings, the workshop is 60 minutes of practicing the rules, in a fun way!
Allow me to do a little PLUG for ART GYM.
It’s a little thing I started with
over a year ago. Both of us wanted a way to regularly grow our skills and practice, but neither of us wanted to take up the entire load of what it takes to put together drawing sessions. All that planning, prep, looking for references, picking topics that relate to the work we were doing, promoting the sessions…it was all too much for one person. However, we have found that by doing it together and sharing the load, not only do both of us get all the full benefits, we can share it with hundreds of other Arthletes as well!
Art Gym is its own subscription, and it will give you access to future live sessions and recordings of the past 16 sessions. It takes more than 10 hours to plan each sessions, and they are all designed to give you a specific skill boost.
After all we designed it as a way to help us do our work better!
I love the monthly accountability of practicing with a group of committed people. It’s fun for all levels, but also beneficial for all levels, we are constantly surprised by the calibre of people attending the sessions.
We work hard to put together every single art gym workshop, and to make sure you leave feeling great and drawing stronger. And all you have to do is show up. Or grab a replay which is like us showing up for you on your terms.
Even by watching the replay, you have the opportunity to ask questions in the chat or share your work in the gallery.
If you want to get the benefit of the hundreds of hours we’ve put into making art gym the fastest way to get stronger at drawing, where all you have to do is show up and we take care of the rest.
Go ahead and Subscribe to Art Gym or check out our last workshop on drawing dynamic poses inspired by sport.
I hope you’ll give us the opportunity to be your instructors! We did the math and a single workshop works out to something like less than $4.
Grab this opportunity to learn and train together and have fun! It’s the perfect complement to your 10 minute daily practice!
I’ll say one last thing, make it a point to draw with friends regularly, if you want to do it with us, we’d love to have you otherwise, find somebody, or a group of people you can meet up with regularly to practice with and to share your work, it will keep you going even when you don’t feel like it!
Okay, back you your regular programming…
TEN MINUTE ARTIST PROMPT
We’re drawing inspiration from ‘The Hobbit’, and have been doing so for 20 days out of a planned 26, today’s prompt is…
S - Smaug: "My armour is like tenfold shields, my teeth are swords, my claws spears, the shock of my tail a thunderbolt, my wings a hurricane, and my breath death!"
One more days to go! We’re almost there, and such amazing work in the gallery!
Tomorrow, I’ll be sharing YOUR drawings of the prompts for this week.
Share your work but also say something about it and about yourself! How did you find working on a longer theme like this for 26 days?
