Artwork is a byproduct of a process.
Ten Minute Artist is a Substack about the process. It’s a process of taking time and making room for daily creative joy. It’s a small indulgence.
In this publication I will give you two things. (Three if you count the 10 minute drawing I make for you to visualise the idea and action)
The first is a…
Creative Idea
Something to think about.
To ponder and mull about. This could be a reflection, observation or even an open letter. The idea will be to get you into the kind of headspace to do the next step.
Which is to take…
Creative Action
Creative Action is an invitation to engaging in the process. To experience Daily Creative Joy. Some artwork or seeds of artwork may be produced as a by-product. And we’ll take that too.
Why Ten Minutes?
Because anyone can take ten minutes to indulge in this experience.
And yes it should feel like an indulgence, at least at first, but if you keep doing it, you will start craving more. You will also start to see progress. Because connecting with that creative part of you can only cause you to grow.
Along the way I’ll share my thoughts and experience of working in publishing. Everything from breaking in to making a creative career sustainable, all through the lense of maintaining a daily practice.
What begins as a small indulgence becomes the habit that shapes your creative future.
