As we lean into the month of May, I feel like I’m getting into a grove, I’m feeling a little bit of momentum.
I saw a note in my journal from last year that said…
“The key to keeping a rhythm is connecting an evening review to a morning routine.”
An evening review is about appreciating what went well today, considering what could have gone better and using that as motivation for tomorrow, then celebrating the small wins of the day, and there will always be small wins.
Today a small win is just having a lot of clarity around the weeks ahead and the small daily dominos that move my big goals forward.
Another win is connecting with so many readers via your emails and DM’s and really feeling a sense of contribution.
For the past few days I’ve been planning my days the night before, and I find that it’s such a great way to shut down for the day. It’s also a great way to take some time for yourself and create your future by creating a plan for the day ahead.
Tomorrow’s going to be a beautiful day!
Plan 10 minutes to draw for yourself!
How’s the year shaping up for you? Do you have a morning routine you like?
TEN MINUTE ARTIST PROMPT
We’re drawing inspiration from ‘The Hobbit’, and have been doing so for 20 days out of a planned 26, today’s prompt is…
X: ‘X’ Mark’s the spot.
"Stand by the grey stone when the thrush knocks, and the setting sun with the last light of Durin's Day will shine upon the key-hole."
On Sunday, I’ll be sharing YOUR drawing of the prompts for this week.
Since February, I’ve made a habit of planning the most important to-do’s for the next day. I write down at least 3 priority tasks, and I might include two secondary tasks like “read for 30m” or “think about Blog ideas for this month” (I find it easier to choose a subject for my monthly blog by keeping it on my brain until something sticks rather than dwelling on it and getting frustrated). I even keep a cute little clipboard on a wall hook by my desk with my daily to-do’s so it’s always nearby and visually reminding me throughout the day what my top priorities are. That simple routine has really helped me get more accomplished since I must take actionable steps each day (even if they’re small ones!)
