Next,
publishes a lovely newsletter called ‘The Habit of Art’ and she talks about Desperately Seeking Motivation in a recent piece. Scrolling through Substack feels like walking by peoples studios and popping in to see how everyone’s doing, this one definitely feels like that, and it makes the journey of creating feel less lonely.

One in particular is this Zine to help you ‘Find your Characters!’ Which I’m going to use to find all the characters for the book I’m writing.
I listened to Jerry Seinfeld’s Commencement speech at DUKE University, in it he says. Don’t worry too much about money. Instead aim for having the coolest job, and that cool is whatever cool is to you.
He goes on to say that there is value in just plain work, putting your back into things, taking a swing of the bat. Will something good happen? Who knows.. but there are two thing in life: Work and Love, that if you put effort into it there is a reward there regardless of the outcome.
