054: Decision Making

on Deadline Day

It’s Deadline Day for one of the books I’ve been working on, I started working on the book more than a year ago, yet there are things that I know now that I might not have known at any point during the creation of the book.

So I made some tweaks and changes.

I didn’t ask anyone, I just did them.

Most were tiny little things that will add tiny bits of enjoyment to the readers.

But one of the changes was bolder. I made the call, and spent the time to make the change. If tomorrow’s email is not titled ‘Big Mistake’ then you’ll know the change paid off.

If I waited for permission, I would miss the deadline so I called it.

My Name’s the one on the cover, so I’ll take the risk. Maybe I’m dramatizing, It’s not really that big of a risk other than the hours I spent that would be wasted if the change is not accepted. I still have a ‘safe’ version.

I’m just writing to tell you I’m happy with my deadline day decision.
