0016: Preparation trumps inspiration
Send your creative energy into the future!
I wrote earlier about creating habit by manipulating space.
I use my space to invite me to make some personal work each morning, while my conscious mind is jest turning on and my subconscious mind is more active. Yesterday I added a new detail to the habit which is to make a note about what to draw tomorrow at the end of my session.
Yesterday I even collected references.
This drawing is a result of that Preparation. To keep the chain going I have some notes for when I pick up drawing again tomorrow. Notes to explore this character doing different activities and in a looser style.
Micro Lesson
When you end a drawing session you might be out of energy but full of ideas. Schedule time to work on those ideas, this could be some time in the future allowing it to brew, or as a prompt how to start the very next day. Leave a note for future you, and some encouragement to go along with the instruction
