📝 Starting on Thursday, the 25th of Aug
A new posting schedule, structure and creative process.
So I polled the both the free and paid subscribers, and together with some thoughts of my own, I think it’s fair to say we’ve come up with a new structure for the newsletter!
I try to explain it in the updated about page, do you feel it makes sense?
The main idea is that EVERYONE will get an email every Thursday. Plus some surprises and Easter eggs along the way.
☕️ The Thursday Email.
I’ll be approaching the Thursday emails a little differently from how I do it now. The idea is I’ll go somewhere, or sit in the studio with my sketchbook and a stop watch and I’ll noodle and doodle in my sketchbook.
When the stopwatch buzzes. I will stop and show you the thing I made. This won’t be a work thing. This will just be a practice. It’s new, it’s different.
I hope you’ll stick around to see how it goes.
🎟 BackStage (What paid subscribers get for less than $5 a month)
Once or twice a month, I’ll share my notes from being a picture-book illustrator, by putting this behind the paywall will mean I will be able to share potent notes, including hints and development of what I’m working on.
You’ll also get access to the “100 days of drawing icons”, which I’m really proud of. I think of it as an ‘apprenticeship’ for lack of a better word, in that you will get to observe me create 100 icons. And every icon is an opportunity for me to talk about some aspect of the illustration process. Even the choice of icons serves as prompts for building a visual vocabulary.
Maybe I just repeated what’s on the about page… I’m just hoping I’m communicating how things will be moving forward. I’m excited about it, it starts on the 25th of August.
