Weekly Roundup and some found objects
This week I figured out a publication schedule that incorporates the free and paid content that I’m putting out. On the free side, I’m hosting monthly discussion on illustration topics, this month the topic is Illustration portfolios:
and paying subscribers got the first issue of a printable sketchbook zine which is packed with a week’s worth of drawing prompts. New Zines will drop every Monday.
In the daily notes I mused about art being a process of filtration:
And I got excited about Carson Ellis joining Substack. I must say the 8 months I’ve spent writing almost daily has been so rewarding for me, and if you’re a creative putting work out there, I think Substack is a great platform for doing so!

For something a little different this week, I’m sharing 3 Artist things I found interesting this week:
1. I loved the style of this drawing which turned out to be a WIP of an animation.
2. I love this question from a kindle highlight:

3. Broken English Goodbye — E S Kibele Yarman
Artist/designer Eren Su Kibele Yarman’s book Broken English Goodbye brings together a collection of illustrations and poems on the themes of departure and detachment..
“Broken English Goodbye is an assemblage made up of 20 fragments of a vessel that fell and broke like an amphora. By shifting the scale and the coordinates of both type and imagery, Broken English Goodbye questions the origin of the fragments and their relationship to their whole, what came before the breakage and which alien pieces came afterwards. It sings its verses like pop songs with many choir parts, with some repetition, some verbal and visual continuous montage. This book is a goodbye to many faces and places, including my twenties and is written in broken English.”
